Digital Channel and Storage Expansion with the TOTAL SHARE Networking Option
The LEIGHTRONIX TOTAL SHARE™ networking option allows users with NEXUS series products to increase both local digital media storage and overall digital playback/record channel capacity through a dedicated, high-speed network. With TOTAL SHARE, users can create a modular video server system that supports a combination of up to four NEXUS series video servers and up to four NAS devices. Digital media on the network attached storage (NAS) is common to all servers while USB storage is only available to the individual video servers. All NEXUS series servers connected through a TOTAL SHARE network are controlled from a single user interface via the WinLGX software.
UltraNEXUS and UltraNEXUS-SDI Server System
Server systems based on the UltraNEXUS and/or UltraNEXUS-SDI video servers support up to 16 TB of NAS storage and may be configured with up to 4 NAS storage devices.
NEXUS Series Server System
Up to four NEXUS, UltraNEXUS, and/or UltraNEXUS-SDI video servers may be connected to a single common NAS device. Server systems that include the original NEXUS model are limited to a 4 TB capacity and a single NAS storage device.
Expanded/Shared Storage
The overall storage capacity of NEXUS series servers can be expanded with NAS devices as follows:

Increased Channel Capacity
Increase your system's channel capacity by attaching up to four NEXUS series video servers to the TOTAL SHARE network. The NEXUS series units share all NAS devices on the TOTAL SHARE network, creating a modular video server system. The overall system channel capacity equals the combined channel capacity of both servers:
- NEXUS + NEXUS = 4 MPEG Playback Channels, 2 MPEG Record Channels
- NEXUS + UltraNEXUS/UltraNEXUS-SDI = 4 MPEG Playback Channels, 1 MPEG Record Channel, 1 Dual MPEG Record Channel (Broadcast & VOD)
- UltraNEXUS/UltraNEXUS-SDI + UltraNEXUS/UltraNEXUS-SDI = 4 MPEG Playback Channels, 2 Dual MPEG Record Channels (Broadcast & VOD)
Supported NAS Storage Device
*The LGX-4TBR-N storage device is equipped with four hard disc drives and is configured and shipped in RAID 1+0 mode, providing mirrored data and a storage capacity of 4 terabytes. The LGX-4TBR-N is rack mountable and occupies only one rack unit of space.
