LEIGHTRONIX LGX-1TBR-U
Part Number: LGX-1TBR-U
Capacity: 1000GB
Proven to be a reliable communications network for a wide range of peripheral devices, USB hard drives are the primary means of local digital storage for LEIGHTRONIX video servers. The LEIGHTRONIX NEXUS series and TCD/NX video servers store MPEG video files on one to four external Universal Serial Bus (USB) hard drives. The NEXUS and TCD/NX can each support a total of up to one terabyte of USB storage, while the UltraNEXUS and UltraNEXUS-SDI can each support up to four terabytes.
LEIGHTRONIX USB storage saves you time and money. Our scalable, external USB storage configurations allow you to add as little or as much storage as you need. And unlike internal video server storage systems that often use proprietary drive configurations, LEIGHTRONIX USB storage simplifies field maintenance and expansion.
In our continued efforts to offer the most reliable solutions in the industry, LEIGHTRONIX has revised the list of officially supported hard drives. Many drives which were previously supported by LEIGHTRONIX have been removed as a result of long-term performance evaluation data, changes in manufacturing hardware/firmware, changes in drive part numbers and availability, and manufacturers' production changes beyond our control. Please contact us if you have any questions.
The supported drive listed below is available through authorized LEIGHTRONIX resellers. When you purchase a LEIGHTRONIX drive, you receive the following benefits:

NOTE: Supported USB hard drives are configured and shipped in RAID 5 mode. RAID 5 has become one of the most popular modes for drive array configuration due to its optimum balance of total capacity and drive redundancy.
The RAID 5 configuration uses a portion of each drive in the array for "parity data," which allows the array to be more tolerant of data loss should any one drive fail. As a result, the typical storage "yield" in a RAID 5, four drive array is equal to 75% of the overall array storage capacity. Storage devices may be reconfigured in the field for any of the supported RAID modes to achieve one of the following storage capacities:
| Supported RAID Modes | Storage Capacity* |
| RAID 0** | No Redundancy, 100% Yield of Overall Array Capacity |
| RAID 1 | Full Redundancy (Mirrored), 50% Yield of Overall Array Capacity |
| RAID 5 | Fault Tolerant, 75% Yield of Overall Array Capacity |
* The RAID array capacity displayed will vary per application.
** When using RAID 0 mode on your USB hard drive, LEIGHTRONIX recommends backing up digital media with the Total Backup™ application.
